ERC Fully-Funded PhD Studentship in Mathematical Physics
Location: School of Mathematics, University of Bristol
Funding amount: £14,236 (UK fees + full stipend and research travel grant).
Contract Type: Fixed Term for 4 years (Full Time)
The School of Mathematics at the University of Bristol invites applications for two PhD research positions to work on the £1.5m ERC Advanced Grant LogCorRM ‘Log Correlations and Random Matrices’ led by Prof Jon Keating. Both positions are fully funded by an ERC grant and are available to start any time between April and September 2018 for a duration of 4 years. The broad goal of the project is to explore the extreme value statistics of the characteristic polynomials of random matrices and of the Riemann zeta function in the context of the general theory of logarithmically correlated Gaussian fields.
How to apply: Please make an online application for this project at http://www.bris.ac.uk/pg-howtoapply . Please select Mathematics on the Programme Choice page and enter details of the studentship when prompted in the Funding and Research Details sections of the form. Please specify in your cover letter that you wish to be considered for the ‘ERC Advanced Grant’.
